“If stories come to you, care for them.
And learn to give them away where they are needed.
Sometimes a person needs a story more than food to stay alive.”

Grace, this is one of those quotes that immediately wedges itself in my heart and mind. LOVELY. And quite frankly, true. Stories can be powerful, magical medicine for the ailing, those short on hope, those who need to hear that another has come through a similar (or “worse”) story and survived, thrived, and lived to tell the story (or didn’t, and yet lives via the storyteller)…
At the core of everything I do is help people/places/entities tell their stories, so this quote especially resonates and captivates and even challenges me. Thank you for a wonderful a.m. gift this chilly, wet Friday.
Amen Emily-Sarah!
When I became a professional storyteller, I started with children’s type stories. Then very shortly I realized: true stories are better, more resonant with people’s hearts and lives. Now I’m realizing how important it is for people to tell their stories, to have their stories heard. We can all learn from each other through our stories.
Thanks Grace!
The photo and the quote – just the magic and inspiration I needed today – Thank you!
